Mold Remediation in Boca Raton

The best defense against mold in Boca Raton is to nip the issue in the bud with prevention. Preventative measures include repairing faucets that leak, keeping the moisture level in the air at a minimum by utilizing dehumidifiers and circulating the air when possible, performing HVAC inspections on a regular basis and removing wet or damp items immediately.

Mold is easy to identify in most cases as it presents itself both visually and leaves behind a pungent odor. Mold spots or clusters show up in varying sizes and range in color from light tan to darker brown and is also occasionally found in colors of black and rust.

Some mold is hidden however and may be more challenging to identify. Hidden mold is often suspected when family members have physical symptoms of its presence such as coughing, wheezing and difficulty breathing. Hidden mold is often found within drywall, in wood paneling and behind wallpaper.

The first step in mold remediation  is to identify the source and solve the issue which is causing the leak or inducing the moisture. The next step is to thoroughly dry, clean and disinfect the entire affected areas. This is done using some specific equipment such as wet vacuums which collect and remove large water pools. Wet vacuums are only to be used in areas that have a lot of water as using them on an area that doesn’t have sufficient water will only accomplish spreading the harmful spores about and can cause more damage.
